Rorys Rustic Furniture

Custom Products

Rory’s Rustic Furniture has the ability to create unique built in projects in addition to custom free-standing furniture. We’ve been blessed with creative opportunities to expand into kitchen cabinetry, rolling barn doors, fireplace mantles, bunk rooms and much more. Rory personally meets with every individual client to design projects that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Featured below are a few of our completed custom projects.

Matt's Bunkroom

Gallatin Gateway, MT

This remodel project included lowering the height of the second level bunks. The room features 2x6 rafters from a barn we reclaimed on the south side of Bozeman. The rustic green material was reclaimed from a nearby fence, and all material was deep planed to achieve a rich gold color to match the existing log house. The ladders hang vertically when not in use, and each lower bunk features plenty of drawer and cabinet storage. We also added barn doors to the master walk-in closet, including reclaimed red lap barn siding.

Gateway Cabin Retreat

Gallatin Gateway, MT

This project included a built-in mantle, multiple bathroom vanities, peninsula bar, and various pieces of furniture. The bar features flattened corrugated metal roofing that was reclaimed from a barn roof with a herringbone pattern bar top, which was built from reclaimed floor joists from a nearby barn. The hand-hewn mantle is reclaimed oak and finished with wooden square peg details. A floating industrial shelf in the kitchen provides storage display for the dishes.

Sula Master Bed/Bath

Sula, MT

This project consists of barn wood wall paneling, trim, a wet and dry vanity with matching mirror frames, a king bed, dresser, armoire, and barn doors entering the walk-in closet. We featured oxidized copper sheets for the bedroom furniture along with elk sheds found by our client. We worked closely with the general contractor to produce quality pieces for a custom fit.

Homestead89 Kitchen

Bozeman, MT

This kitchen was built using reclaimed corral boards from Fairview, MT. Our drawers were handcrafted in house with dovetail joints, all riding on 100 lb soft close full extension slides. We paneled the upper cabinet doors using glacier glass and raw expanded metal, all attached with soft close concealed hinges. The hammered copper sink, hand-forged knobs and pulls, and oak (burnt) countertop were supplied by local Montana artists. Come visit our gallery, Homestead89, to experience this kitchen for yourself!

Hand Hewn Bunk Room

Big Sky, MT

This Yellowstone Club bunk room features hand hewn 6x6 posts and ceiling grid. The room was custom built on-site and includes four queen beds with two drawers per bunk, as well as a shared ladder and lower bookshelf. The posts and beams were assembled using mortise and tenon construction for both structural integrity and appeal. We paneled the wall using reclaimed lap barn siding to complete this rustic Montana retreat.
